A slap: JB’s security vehicle seized by Govt

Former Malawi President Joyce Banda has publicly accused the government of seizing her security escort vehicle without providing a clear reason.
This incident occurred after her vehicle was damaged in an accident while returning from a rally in Blantyre.
As a retired Head of State, Banda emphasized that she is entitled to full government-provided security, including a leading escort vehicle to alert the public.
Banda is among seventeen presidential candidates seeking the top job, making her the only female flag carrier.
Banda’s concerns were echoed by Vice President Michael Usi, who also reported that his lead escort vehicle was confiscated by the government without explanation.
This raises questions about the government’s treatment of former heads of state and their entitlements to security provisions.
