Tobacco sales period stretched!
The 2025 tobacco marketing season has been extended to September 12, allowing farmers more time to sell their remaining crop.Initially, the season was expected to close on August 29.
According to Terephorus Chigwenembe, Public Relations Officer for the Tobacco Commission, the new closing dates are as follows:
– Chinkhoma and Lilongwe floors: September 5
Mzuzu auction floors: September 12
As of August 21, Malawi had earned approximately K881.3 billion from the sale of 495.8 million kilograms of tobacco.
