Massive train derailment in Machinga

Minister of Transportation, Jacob Hara, has confirmed a major derailment of a cargo train carrying fuel at Kamwendo Railway Station in Machinga District.

The incident, attributed to a wrong directive from a control center in Mozambique, resulted in nine fuel tanks overturning, with four leaking diesel.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.A full investigation is underway to determine the exact causes and prevent future occurrences.
