Malawian Prophetess arrested for ‘resurrecting’ a dead man

Police in Malawi capital Lilongwe have arrested prophetess Zelesi Divason, 40, and three disciples for allegedly keeping a man with mental health challenges captive.

The prophetess had claimed the man was resurrected from the dead, resembling a woman’s son who was murdered in 2023.

However, it was discovered that the man was actually a 27-year-old reported missing by his mother.

Divason and her disciples face charges of concealing a kidnapping and human trafficking.
