Ten years apart: Man arrested for sex with a 15 year old

A 25-year-old man identified as Prince Menyere has been arrested in Neno district on allegations that he was having sexual intercourse with a 15 year old girl.

According to investigations, the girl’s mother was surprised to see her daughter coming home late and sometimes sleeping out.

She was then reprimanded and promised to change. In the month of August, 2025, the mother discovered that her daughter was using a smartphone but refused to reveal the one who bought her the phone upon being asked.

This angered her mother who in turn reported the matter Police Victim Support Unit.Upon interview, she revealed that she has been in a sexual relationship with the suspect since August, 2025.

She was then sent to Neno District Hospital for examination and the findings revealed that penetration took place.

Yesterday, the suspect was arrested on charges of having sexual intercourse with a minor and will spear in court soon to answer charges of having sexual intercourse with a minor.

Menyere comes, from Chilombo village, Traditional Authority Chekucheku in Neno district.
