DPP SLAPPED for the third time

The government has rejected the proposed name of Charles Fodya’s as a commissioner at the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec)from the opposition Democratic Progressive Party.

For the third time, the government has rejected a candidate submitted by the DPP for the position.

The DPP had previously seen two of its nominees, Mackford Somanje and Mayamiko Nkoloma, an ICT expert, rejected by the government.

Fodya, also an ICT expert, was the party’s third choice, but his nomination has also been turned down, just two weeks before the elections.

Fodya worked at the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA).
