You can vote: Chakwera nods to crucial electoral law
President Lazarus Chakwera has signed into law a landmark amendment that allows polling staff, security officers, and party representatives to vote at the stations where they are deployed on election day.
The reform, hailed as a boost to inclusivity, ends years of frustration for thousands of election workers who were often unable to cast their ballots due to being stationed far from their registered polling centres.
Presidential Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda confirmed the assent, calling it a step toward strengthening Malawi’s democracy and ensuring no one tasked with running elections is left out of the process.
