Dead body found in Water Board dam

Police in Ndirande say Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre is keeping the body of an unidentified man believed to be aged between 40 and 50.

Police spokesperson Chibisa Mulimbika said the body was discovered on the afternoon of September 9, 2025, floating in a dam belonging to the Blantyre Water Board.

According to Mulimbika, passersby noticed the body and alerted security guards at the dam, who later reported the matter to police.

The deceased is described as dark in complexion, with a beard, and was found wearing black trousers and a South Africa national football team (Bafana Bafana) jersey.

Mulimbika has appealed to members of the public who may help identify the man to contact Ndirande Police Station.
