‘Thats my car’- Usi trends in a video on a restrained convoy vehicle

Vice President Michael Usi has raised concerns over what he described as a breach of constitutional order after his official convoy was reportedly taken over by a cabinet minister, who also serves as President Lazarus Chakwera’s running mate.

The incident occurred in Matindi, where Dr. Usi was conducting a whistle-stop campaign tour. As his convoy passed through the area, the minister’s team allegedly assumed control of the route, overshadowing the Vice President’s movement and sparking public debate.
Dr. Usi later told supporters that the move reflected a deliberate attempt to undermine the authority of his office.
The development has added fresh tension to Malawi’s political atmosphere as the country edges closer to the 2025 general elections, raising wider questions about power struggles, internal party dynamics, and adherence to constitutional principles.
