Charles Khang’a, who was hospitalized after his house caught fire in Mulanje last week has died.
Mulanje District Hospital spokesperson Peter Nasoni has confirmed that Charles Khang’a, 42, succumbed to severe burns.
According to Mulanje Police spokesperson Innocent Moses says their findings show the fire was triggered by the volatile nature of the fuel.
Moses added that, Khang’a was running an illegal fuel business from his house in Gladson Village, under Traditional Authority Njema, where the fire broke out on September 11 as he was transferring petrol into smaller containers.
Khang’a was rescued by neighbors and passersby but later died from his injuries.
