Woman shot dead in Neno
Police in Neno are investigating the killing of a 26-year-old woman, Belita Komenti, who was shot dead in her home on Sunday night.
According to Neno Police spokesperson Rebecca Msoliza, Komenti was asleep with her children when an unknown assailant forced open the door and shot her in the shoulder. The suspect fled immediately after the attack.
Msoliza said the woman’s children raised the alarm, leading to the recovery of an M12 cartridge at the scene.
A postmortem report indicates that Komenti died of haemorrhage resulting from a penetrative blunt object.
Komenti was from Mchenga Village, under the area of Senior Chief Dambe in Neno District.
