Chaos in Limbe as party vendors fight

Business came to a standstill in Limbe on Wednesday afternoon after a group of youths stormed the market, chasing people away and forcing traders to abandon their trade.

The incident occurred just hours before the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is expected to announce the winner of the presidential election.

According to one of the minibus driver who seek anonymity said that public transport was also disrupted as minibuses and other vehicles stopped operating due to the confusion.

Authorities are yet to comment on the situation.
