Rasta steals millions from Indian

Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 30-year-old man, Dyson Sitolo, on suspicion of stealing K15.2 million from an Indian national.

According to Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu, Sitolo and an accomplice, who is still at large, blocked the victim’s motorcycle on Friday around 4 p.m. and threatened him with metal bars before fleeing with a laptop bag containing the money.

Sitolo was later arrested at Kanengo as he attempted to board a bus.

Police have since recovered K9.9 million, while Sitolo, also known as Rasta, allegedly confessed to sharing K5 million with his accomplice.
