Ganjaman: Police arrest man for possessing marijuana

Police in Mwanza have arrested 29-year-old Timothy Phiri for suspected possession of cannabis sativa without a license.

Phiri was traveling from South Africa to Malawi via Mwanza Border on a JKN Logistics bus when police received a tip that the bus was carrying the illicit drug .

Upon arrival, border officials found bricks of cannabis sativa hidden in two bags believed to belong to Phiri.

He is expected to appear in court soon.

This incident is not isolated, as Mwanza police have made similar arrests in the past, including the seizure of 1,300 kilograms of marijuana in August .
