Crimes drops in Zomba

Police in Zomba have reported a significant decrease in crime rates, according to publicist Patricia Sipiliano.

Statistics show a:- 27% decrease in murder cases- 26% decline in sexual offences- 56% reduction in robbery cases- 197% decrease in general theft offences-

There is also a decrease in assault cases to 71 from 107 last year.

The reduction is attributed to increased sensitisation activities by the community policing office and custodial sentences imposed by the courts.
