“MCP was better than DPP on managing the economy”-Chithyola

Simplex Chithyola Banda, Leader of the Opposition has strongly criticized President Peter Mutharika’s opening remarks in Parliament.

Banda accused the administration of repeating past failures, corruption, and empty promises that have harmed Malawians.

He dismissed the President’s words on unity, discipline, and economic revival as “political poetry” lacking substance.

Banda argued that the government has failed to bring meaningful change, instead offering unrealistic promises while citizens struggle with hunger, unemployment, and rising costs of living.

But Finance Minister Joseph Mwanamvekha described Banda’s views as misplaced insisting the DPP regime has better ideas than MCP in which the Leader of Opposition served as Finance Minister.
