Poppy celebrations slated for the weekend

Government has announced that this year’s Poppy Day commemoration will be held on November 9, 2025, with events in Lilongwe, Mzuzu, and Zomba.

Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, Shadrick Namalomba, emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting war veterans and their families.

Senior officials will lead the ceremonies, including First Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah in Lilongwe.

The event honors Malawians who served in World War I, World War II, and peacekeeping engagements.
