“Leave me alone. I left HRDC” -Timothy Mtambo shouts at Malawians
Activist Timothy Mtambo has denied involvement in planned protests, saying he’s being targeted by “cheap propaganda”.
Mtambo, AFORD Vice President, stated, “PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE; STOP THE CHEAP PROPAGANDA!!!”
In a statement, Mtambo clarified he’s focused on supporting the Peter Mutharika administration, saying his duty is to help the government address economic hardships.
“I serve as Vice President of AFORD, part of the current Mutharika administration. My duty is to support our party President and the State President in fixing the economic hardships Malawians are going through.”
Mtambo distanced himself from HRDC, stating he’s had no involvement with the organization for over five years.
“I left HRDC over five years ago. I have no intention of going back. Direct any HRDC matters to them, not to me.”Mtambo urged Malawians to unite for national development, saying, “Let us stop politicization and propaganda against innocent individuals. We must unite for the development and progress of our nation.”
He warned against using his name and image for propaganda, stating, “Disregard any statement not issued directly by me. I have not appointed anyone to speak or post on my behalf.”
