“I’m better than Babatunde”-Khuda Myaba
Khuda Myaba has sparked controversy claiming he’s on par with the country’s top strikers, including Chiukepo Msowoya and Gabadinho Mhango.
The former Flames forward made the bold statement on social media after Malawi’s draw with Lesotho, a match he didn’t play in, having been out of the national squad since 2023.
“Don’t compare fish with sharks… he’s not better than me 100 times,” Myaba wrote, referencing a past rivalry with Nigerian-born striker Babatunde Adepoju, who recently earned his second cap for Malawi.
Myaba cited his 2018 TNM Super League golden boot win (21 goals vs Adepoju’s 15) as proof of his superiority.
Stats:- Khuda Myaba: 5 goals in 29 appearances
– Gabadinho Mhango: 20 goals in 75 appearances
– Chiukepo Msowoya: 22 goals in 88 appearances
– Richard Mbulu: 5 goals in 47 appearances.
Myaba’s comments come amid criticism of his lack of recent national team involvement, and past clashes with Flames coaches.
He hasn’t played for Malawi since 2023 and has yet to feature under current coach Kalisto Pasuwa.
Most of his goals came in the COSAFA Cup, with one in World Cup qualifiers.
