A recent post on Malawi Data News, has gone viral, drawing hundreds of women—including some from neighboring Zambia—to seek out the husband of a Chikwawa woman who gave birth to four baby boys.
The post, which detailed the rare occurrence of the woman delivering four baby boys in a single birth, has attracted a mix of curiosity and opportunistic interest, with women asking for the man’s contact details in hopes of “sharing in the luck.
Mary Munthali wrote, “Malawi Data, get me that person please. I mean the man,”.
Chipale Chanza, a woman from Zambia, joked, “I’m traveling from Zambia to Malawi to also have that large number of babies. Malawian men are good.”
The post has sparked debate online, with some criticizing the women for reducing the situation to a lottery ticket, while others praised the cultural reverence for fertility.
The identity of the family remains undisclosed, and authorities have not commented on the requests.
