Malawi to review GUN ownership

The Malawi government says it reviewing gun ownership regulations to enhance public safety, with efforts to ensure all firearms are properly registered.

Minister of Homeland Security, Peter Mukhito made the disclosure in parliament.

He said he has directed the Inspector General of Police to release a full report on the murder of Dr. Victoria Bobe, a doctor at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, by the end of this week.

Mukhito assured Malawians of the police’s commitment to securing homes, workplaces, and businesses following the doctor’s shooting death.

The call for updates on the case was also raised in Parliament by Salima West MP Enoch Phale.
