Police have given details into the arrest of videographer VJ Kenny, whose real name is Kenneth Makina, who admitted during police questioning he was dating and sleeping with a minor aged 15 and in Standard 7 in Primary School.
He now faces charges of child abduction and sexual relations with a minor, following allegations involving.
The girl was reported missing for three days before returning home, leading to a police investigation that has shocked the community.
According to police, the young girl had been spending nights at VJ Kenny’s residence, where the two allegedly engaged in sexual activities.
While VJ Kenny, 30, has admitted to dating the girl, he maintains that he was unaware of her true age, claiming she misled him into believing she was 18.
However, police reports contradict his claims, revealing that the girl has consistently identified herself as a minor.
Police publicist Chibisa Mulimbika from Ndirande police station addressed the issue on Mibawa TV, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges.
“It is imperative to protect minors from exploitation. Cases like these must be addressed with the utmost seriousness,” Mulimbika asserted.
