Two young learners die after drowning
Two learners at Masasa Primary School in Mzuzu, have died after they drowned in an Agricultural Development Division (ADD) dam during a school sports day.
The victims, Chawanangwa Phiri (14) and Bule, had sneaked off to swim in the dam.
Despite rescue efforts, they died before help arrived.
Police confirmed the incident and bodies were taken to Mzuzu Central Hospital for postmortem.
