15 people out of 100 have HIV in Blantyre
A concerning statistic has emerged from Blantyre, Malawi, where at least 15% of the population is living with HIV.
This revelation comes from the Malawi Business Coalition on Health, just ahead of World AIDS Day and Candlelight commemoration in Blantyre.
The coalition’s CEO, Treza Mphwathiwa, emphasizes that this year’s event focuses on encouraging men to play a more active role in the fight against HIV.
Mphwathiwa’s statement highlights the importance of male involvement in addressing the epidemic.
In a show of support, National Bank has contributed 2.8 million kwacha to the event.
The commemoration is set to take place on Monday in Blantyre, serving as a crucial reminder of the ongoing efforts needed to combat HIV/AIDS in Malawi.
