“Kanyenda to be buried in the UK”- Family says
Former Malawi national football team striker Esau Kanyenda will be buried in the United Kingdom, not in Malawi, according to his family.
His brother Christopher confirmed that the burial date is pending doctors’ advice, but likely to be this or next weekend, as UK burials typically take place on weekends.
Kanyenda, 43, passed away in the UK after battling liver cancer.
The legendary player, known as “Mamba,” had a notable career with clubs like Dwasco FC, Mighty Wanderers, and international teams in South Africa and Russia, scoring 22 goals in 72 appearances for the national team.
