Thyolo man arrested for raping a 12 year old girl

Police in Thyolo district have arrested a 32-year-old man, Chikumbutso Mujojo for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.

According to police Public Relations Officer for Masambanjati Police Station, Amos Banda, this happened when the guardian to the victim, Kayuza Mandevu, sent her to Thekerani Mission hospital for medication after being unwell for sometime.

“In the presence of the guardian and the medical team, the victim confessed that she was carnally known by the suspect on several occasions during the months of November and December this year,” said the publicist.

She further revealed that the suspect threatened to kill her if she revealed to anyone about the matter.

The suspect is expected to appear before court to answer charges of having sexual intercourse with a female child.

Mujojo hails from Mussa village, Traditional authority Nsabwe in Thyolo.
