Woman found dead in a forest
A yet to be identified woman has been found dead at Kazyombe Hills in Mwale area, near Phwezi in Rumphi District, police say.
Rumphi Police Station Spokesperson, Noel Kamchenga, has confirmed receiving a report about the incident and disclosed that police have launched investigations into the matter.
Kamchenga said the body has been taken to Rumphi District Hospital for identification and post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
“We are treating this as a serious incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward,” Kamchenga said.
The incident has sparked concern among locals, with many calling for swift investigations to uncover the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help identify the deceased or shed light on the incident.
