Cholera strikes Neno

Neno District Hospital reports 14 new suspected cholera cases, bringing the total to 24.

Four health facilities – Lisungwi, Midzemba, Dambe, and Zalewa – are affected, with Midzemba leading at 13 cases.

Six villages, including Ngwenyama 2, Limani, and Yala, are impacted, with Ngwenyama 2 having 7 cases.

Health officials urge regular handwashing and preventive measures.

Expert Donald Kanjere blames contaminated food and water, calling for improved hygiene and local treatment to curb the spread.
