“I stopped Wanderers from practicing witchcraft”-Mpinganjira
Mighty Wanderers Football club has been practicing rituals and traditional practices, to win competitions only for financier Thom Mpinganjira to stop the actions years ago.
Mpinganjira has said that has banned the team from using rituals as a way to improve its performance.
The businessman says when he started supporting the recent league champions, some officials claimed from him up to K3 million to produce medicines, under the concept of “research” to ensure the team’s success.
“I and Mukuru company told them that we would stop supporting the team if they continued with their superstitious behavior,” said Mpinganjira as quoted by state broadcaster MBC.
He said that he encouraged the players to rely on their own skills and not on the superstitions.
The Nomads have won the league this year and are now on campaign to defend the Castel cup title as they face central region based side Extreme FC.
