Lobola causes TROUBLE: Man kills mother, father injured
A 32-year-old man whose name is Zikuthabwanji Dimiyoni, has been arrested for killing his mother and injuring his father over K10,000 lobola money from his sister’s marriage.
The incident happened on December 30, 2025, at Zipendo Village, Nathenje, Lilongwe.
Dimiyoni reportedly attacked his parents with a wooden stick after they asked for their share of the money.
His 60-year-old mother, Munena Jesati, died on the way to Kamuzu Central Hospital, while his 60-year-old father, William Jesati, is receiving treatment.
Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu confirms Dimiyoni is in custody, facing murder charges.
He will appear in court soon.
