Four men arrested for killing a security guard

Police in Chiradzulu District have arrested four men suspected of killing Isaac Nyirenda, a 36-year-old security guard at Sable Farming Limited in attempt to steal macadamia nuts.

The incident occurred on January 11, 2026, when the accused allegedly invaded the farm to steal macadamia nuts.

According to Hubert Mwangoka, Public Relations Officer, the suspects’ plan was foiled by security guards patrolling the area, but Nyirenda was found missing.

A search was conducted, and his lifeless body was discovered the following day by macadamia nut pickers.

He had a deep cut on his head, and his body is currently at Chiradzulu District Hospital for a postmortem.

The suspects, identified as Lovemore Mikishoni (25), Chimwemwe Lucius (24), Glosi Chidziwe (20), and Robert Kananji (20), will face murder charges in court soon.

The motive behind the killing is unclear, but it’s suspected to be linked to the attempted theft. The police investigation is ongoing.
