Former security minister Ezekiel Ching’oma ARRESTED!

Former Minister of Homeland Security Ezekiel Ching’oma has been arrested by police and is currently at Lumbadzi Police Station in Lilongwe.

His lawyer, Jefferson Luwa, confirmed that Ching’oma was taken from his house around 5 am and dropped at the police station an hour later.

Luwa stated that Ching’oma hasn’t been charged or informed about the reason for his detention.

The police spokesperson, Lael Chimtembo, has asked for time to comment on the matter.

Ching’oma is the fourth senior Malawi Congress Party (MCP) member to be arrested since December last year, following Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda, running mate Vitumbiko Mumba, and publicity secretary Jessie Kabwila.
