Fuel prices rise in Malawi

The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has increased fuel prices by an average of 41.6%.

Petrol now costs K4,695 per liter, up from K3,499, while diesel costs K4,945 per liter, up from K3,500.

This is the second price hike in five months. The increase is attributed to rising landed costs, prompting MERA to adjust prices.

The authority has warned fuel retailers against selling above approved prices.
