Political violence suspects remain on spotlight
The Attorney General’s office wants the courts to vacate an order stopping police from re-arresting 11 suspects linked to Lilongwe’s political violence.
The suspects had challenged their re-arrest, arguing police should’ve summoned them instead, despite being granted bail.
The Attorney General Frank Mbeta argues the suspects have no strong case, withheld facts, and haven’t shown rights were violated.
The matter’s set for January 28 in Lilongwe. The alleged offences were committed at different times and locations.
