Three men arrested for possessing fake US Dollars
Three men, Joe Mponela, Christopher Banda, and Vasco Luhanga, have been arrested in Kasungu for possessing counterfeit US dollars.
They allegedly tried to buy beers worth K378,000 at Puma Prison filling station using a fake $100 bill.
Police caught them at Lisasadzi Trading Centre, heading to Lilongwe, and seized $7,300 in counterfeit bills.
The suspects, from Karonga, Mzimba, and Rumphi districts, are in custody.
The Reserve Bank is assisting with investigations.
