Crimes decline in Zomba city

Police in Zomba city have reported a decrease in crimes in 2025 compared to 2024.

Murder cases dropped by 20% (50 to 38 cases), robbery cases decreased by 21% (164 to 129 cases), and assault cases fell by 27% (411 to 301 cases).

General theft cases also dropped by 7% (1,153 to 1,070 cases).

Zomba Police publicist Patricia Sipiliano attributes this reduction to improved police collaboration.
