Govt warns on rewards in subsidies

The government has expressed concern over some public officials suggesting farm inputs and relief aid should go to those who voted for the current administration.

In a statement, Chief Secretary Justin Saidi says President Peter Mutharika reaffirms all Malawians are entitled to equal access to government programs, regardless of political affiliation.”

The President’s position is clear: every Malawian, regardless of how they voted in the 2025 Tripartite Elections, is entitled to fair and equal access to relief assistance and all government development and social support programs,” the statement reads.

Saidi directs public officers to adhere to the “One Malawi” vision and administer programs in the national interest.
