Indian Hemp burnt to ASHES

Authorities in Salima have torched a minimum of five tons of marijuana that were confiscated from individuals discovered in possession of the substance without appropriate legal documentation.

As stated by Police Spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate, the marijuana was eliminated through controlled incineration at facilities designated for such activities.

Ndiwate clarified that this action aligns with legal regulations that authorize police to destroy confiscated drugs after a period of five months if the owners cannot be found or prosecuted.

“When police possess a lawful authority to dispose of seized items, it is permissible, particularly when the owners have fled or cannot be located,” Ndiwate stated, underscoring the importance of compliance with the law.
