MACRA Director of Telecoms dies in a road accident

A 56-year-old Edward Kauka, who served as the Director of Telecommunications at the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), has died in a road accident that took place in Ntcheu District yesterday.

As reported by Jacob Khembo, the spokesperson for Ntcheu Police, Kauka was operating a vehicle traveling from Chingeni to Zalewa.

Unfortunately, the vehicle, which was allegedly moving at a high speed, went off the road close to Chidokowe village and overturned.

Kauka suffered severe injuries, and passengers quickly transported him to Balaka Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.

The deceased Kauka was originally from Njerengwa village, located in the area of Senior Chief Mwaulambiya in Chitipa District.
