Motorbike operator found dead

Police in Dowa district have reported the discovery of the body of an unidentified man believed to be a motorcycle operator.

According to Dowa police spokesperson, Alice Sitima, the man was found yesterday by a passerby in a maize field located at Chezi, near the Khatho water tank along the Salima-Lilongwe M14 road.

She stated that police officers, along with medical personnel, quickly arrived at the scene, where they confirmed that the man had suffered severe head injuries inflicted by a heavy object.

A postmortem examination has indicated that the cause of death was head trauma resulting from an assault.

In the meantime, the body is being stored at Dowa District Hospital while awaiting identification.
