Tension as man throws himself into Shire River

An unidentified individual has gone missing after allegedly jumping into the Shire River Zalewa in the Neno district yesterday.

Rebecca Msoliza, the public relations officer for Neno police, stated that a witness reported seeing the man, who seemed to be under stress, dressed in a grey coat and green trousers prior to his leap into the river, where he was subsequently swept away by the current.

“We have since increased our efforts to locate the missing individual,” Msoliza remarked.

Authorities have encouraged the public to express their concerns or to visit the Victim Support Unit at their nearest police station, rather than contemplating suicide.
