Fear grips Lilongwe as six dead bodies found in river
Communities in Lilongwe are engulfed in fear following the retrieval of six bodies from the Lilongwe River within a period of less than three months since December 2025.
The most recent discovery occurred today, Wednesday, in the Kauma area near Area 44, where the body of a woman was found, leading to speculation that this may be linked to a criminal act.
Residents of the Kauma residential area have informed the media that some of the bodies recovered in December 2025 exhibited cuts, indicating potential murders.
The police have not provided clear information on this matter, as they have redirected us from one office to another.
Ironically, some of the bodies that were recovered since December were reportedly buried on-site without any evidence of a professional autopsy being conducted.
