Fake love: Man arrested for killing girlfriend

Police in Kasungu have arrested a man named Sinoya Faidoni, 24, on charges of murdering his girlfriend, Naya Nailoni, who was 20 years old, at the Chisinga trading centre.

As reported by Joseph Kachikho, the Public Relations Officer for Kasungu, Faidoni was taken into custody following a manhunt.

In his statement, Kachikho mentioned that Nailoni’s remains were discovered in an open pit latrine located near her residence.

Neighbors indicated that they heard the cries of her child and found the child unattended.

A post-mortem examination indicated that she succumbed to severe head injuries.

Faidoni, who is originally from Chaweta village in the Traditional Authority of Chakhaza in Dowa District, was running a business in Chisinga.
