Kwa George: Kasakula arrested

Former Director General of the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), George Kasakula, has been apprehended by police.

Kasakula acknowledged that he has been taken into custody after undergoing several hours of interrogation by the Fiscal Police in Blantyre in speaking to the NPL.

“Indeed, I have just been informed that I am under arrest and will be held in detention. I have been present here [Fiscal Police offices in Blantyre] since 9am for questioning,” he stated.

Approximately three weeks ago, Kasakula was removed from his position by the MBC board due to allegations of “gross misconduct.”
