Young girl dies in Kasungu accident

A 7-year-old girl named Joice Phiri has tragically passed away as a result of a road accident that occurred at the Mitekete trading center along the earth road of Kasungu National Park.

As reported by Miracle Hauli, the Deputy Spokesperson for Kasungu Police Station, a motorcyclist traveling from Lifupa towards Kasungu town struck the young girl while she was walking along the road with her friends yesterday.

Hauli stated that due to the collision, she suffered a severe head injury and a fracture in her left arm.

She was subsequently transported to Kasungu District Hospital, where she was declared dead prior to receiving any medical treatment.

The police in the district have since called on motorists to exercise caution while driving on the roads and to comply with traffic regulations in order to avert such accidents.
