OH dear! MEC stops local govt polls after death of aspiring councillor

The Malawi Electoral Commission has suspended local government elections in Milongo ward in Mangochi East Constituency after the death of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Shadow Councilor Allan Jemusi.

The deceased was involved in a motorcycle accident along the Lingamasa road.

Now, according to MEC, the Local Government Elections have been suspended in the ward but the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections will proceed as scheduled.
