The officer, identified as Dalitso Kalande, reportedly jumped off the vehicle without warning the driver after arriving at Chief Mduwa complex along the M12 road. He sustained severe injuries and died while receiving treatment at Mchinji District Hospital.
Kalande, a resident of Nsanje district, was returning from work at the time of the incident. Central West Region Police spokesperson Foster Benjamin confirmed the incident to Zodiak Online.
