Man arrested for pretending to be Immigration Officer
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has arrested a 27-year-old man, Kelvin Mpinga, for allegedly impersonated an immigration officer.
According to Francis Chitambuli, the department’s deputy public relations officer, Mpinga was arrested for falsely claiming to act on behalf of immigration officers and demanding money from passport applicants.
“The suspect was apprehended for allegedly demanding money from passport applicants while falsely claiming to be acting on behalf of immigration officers,” Chitambuli said.
Mpinga is currently in police custody, awaiting completion of legal proceedings and possible prosecution.
