Malawi strengthens ties with Luxembourg

Malawi President Peter Mutharika has praised the strong friendship and cooperation between Malawi and Luxembourg during a meeting with Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel at Kamuzu Palace.

The two countries are set to sign a General Cooperation Agreement to boost collaboration in various sectors.

Mutharika highlighted Malawi’s economic transformation efforts, shifting from importing to producing and exporting.

He invited Luxembourg investors to set up shop in Malawi, citing the country’s peace, skilled workforce, and supportive policies.

Bettel congratulated Mutharika on his electoral victory and expressed interest in working with Malawi to achieve its transformation vision.

Luxembourg also supports Malawi’s development and backs its bid for a UN Security Council seat.
