Councillor dies in Karonga
The Karonga District Council has reported the death of Hawkins Munthali, the Councillor for Uliwa Ward who was a member of the People’s Party.
As per the information provided by George Mponda, the spokesperson for the Karonga District Council, Munthali died in Lilongwe.
The statement states: “The Council is saddened to announce the premature death of Councillor Hawkins Munthali from Uliwa Ward, who passed away today (Monday) at 09:00 hours in Lilongwe.
“Details regarding the funeral arrangements will be shared in due time. On behalf of the Council, we offer our sincere condolences to the grieving family, relatives, and the residents of Uliwa Ward during this challenging period.”
